WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell tomorrow will announce new Climate Data Initiative tools to help local communities build resilience to climate change during keynote remarks at the 2014 ACES (A Community on Ecosystem Services) conference in Arlington, Virginia.

In March 2014, the Obama Administration launched the Climate Data Initiative, unleashing troves of open government data about climate and calling on America's innovators to leverage data in ways that can make the nation's communities and businesses more resilient to climate change.

The focus of the ACES conference is to link science, practice, and sustainable decision making by bringing together the ecosystem services community from around the United States and the globe. ACES 2014 will bring together leaders in government, NGOs, academia, Native American communities and the private sector to advance the use of ecosystem services science and practice in conservation, restoration, resource management and development decisions.
