WASHINGTON, D.C. – Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell will deliver remarks at the Annual Meeting of the Western Governors' Association in Park City, Utah, on Friday, June 28. Secretary Jewell will discuss Interior's balanced management of public lands and underscore the economic importance of activities such as outdoor recreation, travel and tourism, and responsible energy development to local communities throughout the West. Jewell will also discuss the President's climate action plan to develop home-grown energy and implement steady, responsible steps to cut carbon pollution.
This will be Jewell's first visit to Utah as Secretary of the Interior. The Western Governors' Association is an independent organization representing the governors of 19 states and three US-Flag Pacific islands.
