WASHINGTON – U.S. Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell will offer opening remarks at a White House Roundtable on Water Innovation on Tuesday, Dec. 15, and will announce a new Department of the Interior initiative to spur innovation and investments that support water and conservation solutions.
The roundtable will highlight how an aggressive innovation agenda can help America meet the challenge of a constrained water supply and increase the resilience of our businesses and communities as they plan for the impacts of increasingly severe and lengthy droughts.
Interior Deputy Secretary Michael L. Connor will also participate in the roundtable by moderating a panel discussion on technology as a solution to increase water efficiencies, storage and transfers. White House Office of Science and Technology Policy Director John Holdren will also provide remarks.
