SAN FRANCISCO – On Wednesday, Dec. 14, U.S. Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell will deliver remarks at the American Geophysical Union (AGU) Fall Meeting as part of a nationwide tour highlighting progress the nation has made over the past eight years on public lands, waters and wildlife management. U.S. Geological Survey Director Suzette Kimball will also attend.
In her remarks, Secretary Jewell will outline historic actions the Obama Administration has taken to address climate change. Jewell will also focus on the continued need for transparent, independent and sound science to guide policy in the next administration.
With approximately 24,000 attendees last year, the AGU’s annual Fall Meeting is the largest Earth and space science meeting in the world and presents an opportunity to discuss the latest discoveries, trends and challenges.
