NEW ORLEANS – On the heels of the First Family’s visit to national parks this weekend, U.S. Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell will deliver keynote remarks at IPW, the U.S. Travel Association’s annual conference in New Orleans, Louisiana on Monday, June 20.
Secretary Jewell will discuss the role of travel and tourism – including international tourism – in our nation’s economy and celebrate the National Park Service (NPS) Centennial, the 100-year milestone of America’s national parks that focuses on connecting with and supporting the next generation of park visitors, supporters, and advocates. President Obama’s Travel and Tourism Strategy outlines a goal of 100 million international visitors to the U.S. by the end of 2021.
The U.S. Travel Association is the national, non-profit organization that works to increase travel to and within the United States. The Association’s annual conference is the largest generator of travel to the U.S. It involves more than 1,000 U.S. travel organizations and more than 1,300 international and domestic buyers from more than 70 countries.
