Secretary Jewell to Hold Media Availability in Grand Canyon National Park - Archive

GRAND CANYON, ARIZ. – On Tuesday, July 26, U.S. Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell will hold a media availability to discuss her visit to Grand Canyon National Park. National Park Service (NPS) Director Jonathan B. Jarvis, NPS Regional Director Sue Masica and recently appointed Grand Canyon National Park Superintendent Christine Lehnertz will also participate.

Secretary Jewell is visiting Grand Canyon National Park to meet with National Park Service leadership and park employees to discuss the opportunities and challenges facing rangers who serve more than five million visitors each year. Secretary Jewell is also joining U.S. Geological Survey scientists and students as they gather data on the river to better understand the critical Grand Canyon ecosystem.
