The Homeland Security Republicans has issued the following press release:
Rep. John Katko (R-NY), ranking member of the House Committee on Homeland Security, joined Fox Business’ "Evening Edit" to discuss the growing national security implications of the supply chain crisis and react to President Biden’s comments accusing Americans of “not understanding the challenges facing supply chains.”

Highlights:
Biden’s Disconnected From Americans: “I think [Biden’s] comment is symptomatic of a larger problem with this administration where they think that they have to make those decisions for the American people because they’re not capable of understanding. That top-down arrogance is what is going on in this country and it’s really a shocking attitude to have as a leader.”
National Security Threat: “We have major supply chain issues. I’m head of the Republican side of the Homeland Security Committee and we know that the supply chain is a national security threat. It’s not just an economic threat, it’s a national security threat. We saw it during the pandemic. Every American saw during the pandemic how hard it was just to get personal protective equipment.”
Americans Are Feeling The Supply Chain Crisis: “Those supply chain issues permeate everything we do. If you’re going to buy a car now you know there’s a supply chain issue because there’s not enough computer chips out there. We’re trying to fix that. So we understand fully what’s going on here. And this administration just seems to be dictating top-down policy and we just don’t need that right now.”
Democrats’ Tax Increases Will Exacerbate Supply Chain Crisis: “If you want to talk about something that would affect the supply chain, it’s tax increases on businesses and individuals who create jobs. When they can’t afford to do business here, they go across the pond or overseas. In 2017, we did tax reform. When we lowered the taxes for businesses, they came back and the economy was booming. Now [Democrats] are talking about raising taxes, which would further exacerbate this supply chain problem because businesses will go back overseas.”
