The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has proposed an $88,108 civil penalty against Bridgewater State University. The Massachusetts university is alleged to have failed in maintaining necessary records.

According to the FAA, Bridgewater State University, which operates an FAA-approved pilot school, did not keep a required log of nine students’ course attendance, subjects studied, flight training sessions, and names and grades of tests taken.

Furthermore, the university reportedly did not maintain records showing that the assistant chief instructor completed an approved syllabus of ground or flight training or an approved flight instructor refresher course.

Bridgewater State University has requested a meeting with the FAA to discuss this matter.
