Registration for SelectUSA’s Annual Investment Summit, the largest event dedicated to promoting foreign direct investment in the United States, was recently opened by the U.S. Department of Commerce.

The 2022 summit is scheduled to take place June 26-29 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland, a Commerce Department press release said.

“The SelectUSA Investment Summit is the premier foreign direct investment event in the United States,” Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo said in the release. “We are looking forward to welcoming our Investment Summit family back together to safely network in person, have crucial conversations on foreign direct investment, and create a space for participants to learn more about why the U.S. remains the most attractive place in the world for businesses to invest and grow.”

The yearly event serves to attract business investment and spur job creation in the United States by promoting investment opportunities and building relationships between foreign investors and U.S. economic development organizations, the release said.

In an effort to promote the Biden Administration’s plan to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, the summit will include sessions focusing on clean energy sectors including advanced batteries, energy storage, civil nuclear energy, offshore wind and semiconductors, the release said.

Secretary Raimondo is confident the event will be conducted in person despite ongoing concerns caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Thanks to President Biden’s leadership, and the hundreds of millions of Americans who have received a vaccine, we believe we’ll be able to host 2022’s summit in person, and in a way that will put the health and safety of all attendees front and center,” Raimondo said in the release.
