The most recent notice, Notice of Submission of Proposed Information Collection to OMB Agency Request for Reinstatement of a Previously Approved Collection: Online Complaint Form for Service-Related Issues in Air Transportation, was submitted on November 29, 2021.
The Transportation Department published 100 the month before, marking a 13 percent decrease for the current month.
The Department handles nearly all infrastructure crisscrossing the country. Downsizing the Federal Government, a project aimed at lowering taxes and boosting federal efficiency, said the Department should be privatized to save money, reduce congestion and spur innovation.
Notices are required documents detailing rules and regulations being proposed by each federal department. This allows the public to see what issues legislators and federal departments are focusing on.
Any person or organization can comment on the proposed rules. Departments and agencies must then address “significant issues raised in comments and discuss any changes made,” the Federal Register says.
