Washington, D.C. - In recognition of the tenth annual National Healthy Schools Day on April 24, Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA), Chairman of the Environment and Public Works Committee, issued the following statement:
Senator Boxer said: "Schools should be a safe and healthy environment for children to learn, and that means kids need clean air to breathe and water that is free from dangerous toxins. National Healthy Schools Day is a reminder that we must protect kids inside their school and outside on the playground. Healthier schools lead to healthier kids."
