Vitter: Administration’s Revolving Door Keeps Swinging

The following press release was published by the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Work on Sept. 17, 2014. It is reproduced in full below.

U.S. Sen. David Vitter (R-La.), top Republican on the Environment and Public Works Committee, today made the following statement regarding Rhea Suh's transition from Assistant Secretary of the Department of the Interior to President of the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC). Suh's nomination to become Interior's Assistant Secretary for Fish, Wildlife, and Parks will be withdrawn.

"Ms. Suh's transition into the political, private sector route to shut down energy development is unsurprising. However, I am sure that after so much rushing through the nomination process earlier this year, a handful of my colleagues on the Energy Committee must be deeply disappointed to lose Ms. Suh to the NRDC," said Vitter.

Rhea Suh has previously served at the foundations recently noted in an EPW Republicans report and now will be going to another one of the organizations cited in the report.
