The below is attributable to Spokesperson Ned Price: Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken met with Swiss President and Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis today in Geneva. Secretary Blinken and President Cassis discussed the strong bilateral relationship between the United States and Switzerland, as well as regional peace and security issues, including the need to prevent further escalation of the security situation near Ukraine’s borders. The Secretary expressed his appreciation to Switzerland for hosting the U.S.-Russia Summit and Strategic Stability Dialogue meetings and for serving as our protecting power in Iran for four decades.
