Significance Inc. awarded Department of Energy a prime contract to modernize budgeting systems

Significance Inc. awarded the Department of Energy (DOE) with a Western Area Power Administration (WAPA) contract, according to a Feb. 2 press release.

The WAPA operates and maintains over 17,000 miles of transmission lines covering approximately 1.3 million square miles, and Significance Inc. awarding this contract to DOE is a huge step.

"Significance has been providing financial services to the federal government since our inception. This contract and opportunity to work with Huron to deliver this important capability to WAPA demonstrates our proven expertise and reflects our commitment to expanding the services we offer to our federal customers," Mary Ahern Snyder, founder and President of Significance said.

The contract links Significance with Huron to provide lift and shift from on-premises Hyperion Planning and Budgeting, to Oracle Enterprise Performance Management Cloud. Significance already has a host of partners that help them support several of their DoD clients, but this is the first time they are partnering up with DOE.

It will also provide the creation of training documentation and training delivery to WAPA personnel and also aims to take full advantage of EPM's expanded capability for integrations and allocations to make better analysis, alternatives for better application design, and recommendations. It will also provide a new configuration of the EPM cloud environment for different items like workflow, forms, security, dimensions, calculations, aggregations, distributions, and versions.

The DOE's Western Area Power Administration (WAPA) mission is to market and deliver cost-based hydroelectric power and related services to millions of consumers in 15 western states.
