WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow, Ranking Member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry, today released the following statement regarding EPA’s Renewable Fuel Standard announcement.

“The Renewable Fuel Standard has proven to be an effective tool for strengthening our advanced biofuels industry and creating a clean energy future," Stabenow said. “We should be building on that progress by fully implementing the targets established by Congress. While today’s announcement falls short of that goal, I am pleased that the target levels have been increased from the initial proposal. I will continue to fight for a strong Renewable Fuel Standard that meets the targets set by Congress so that American biofuel producers can compete fairly at the pump."
