Director of the Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight Gary Cohen will testify at 9:30 a.m. in 2123 of the Rayburn House Office Building. Cohen previously testified on the health law before the subcommittee on Sept. 19, 2013, and April 24, 2013, both times assuring members that implementation was on track for October 1. The committee’s investigation into the law’s failed rollout has uncovered that Cohen was among several top HHS and White House officials warned on April 4 and April 5, 2013, of serious concerns about meeting the October 1 launch date. Despite the behind-the-scenes warnings in early April, Cohen insisted to subcommittee members less than three weeks later that implementation was “on track."
