WASHINGTON, DC - House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Fred Upton (R-MI) and Communications and Technology Subcommittee Chairman Greg Walden (R-OR) today commented on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia’s decision in NAB v FCC.
“Americans’ appetite for spectrum continues to grow. To meet their demand, auctions like this must be conducted fairly to ensure maximum participation. At the same time, broadcasters continue to serve an integral role in local communities across the country." said Upton and Walden. “The FCC, broadcasters, and the wireless community must continue working together to make this auction a success. As the Spectrum Act intended, we need buy-in from all of these groups to ensure American spectrum needs are met without harming broadcasters’ ability to serve their communities."
