WASHINGTON, DC - The House Committee on Energy and Commerce today announced its hearing schedule for the week of July 13.
On Tuesday, the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations will discuss ways to strengthen Medicare and ensure that the Medicare Part D program operates more effectively, tax dollars are spent appropriately, and that our nations’ seniors are protected.as they are posted.
Also on Tuesday, the Subcommittee on Energy and Power will examine pipeline safety and whether the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) has progressed, or not, in implementing reforms established under the Pipeline Safety Act of 2011. Seventeen of 42 congressional mandates required under the Pipeline Safety, Regulatory Certainty, and Job Creation Act of 2011 remain incomplete well beyond specified deadlines. In light of recent events, the committee seeks to reexamine PHMSA’s implementation of the reforms congress enacted.as they are posted.
