WASHINGTON, DC - The House Committee on Energy and Commerce today announced its hearing schedule for the week of April 11.
On Wednesday, the Subcommittee on Environment and the Economy and Subcommittee on Health will hold a joint hearing to assess the impacts of the Flint, Michigan, water crisis and take stock of lessons learned. The subcommittees will seek to better understand drinking water infrastructure issues and weigh the short-and long-term public health implications.as they are posted.
Also on Wednesday, the Subcommittee on Communications and Technology will hold a legislative hearing on seven communications bills to enact commonsense improvements to improve public safety and increase FCC accountability.as they are posted.
On Thursday, the Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade will hold a hearing to conduct oversight of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Along with a panel of witnesses, NHTSA Administrator Mark Rosekind is expected to testify and will update members on the state of the agency’s efforts to facilitate vehicle recalls, strengthen vehicle cybersecurity, and prepare for the driving technologies of the future.as they are posted.
Also on Thursday, the Subcommittee on Energy and Power will hold a legislative hearing to examine the effects of the EPA’s ozone regulations on small businesses and jobs. Members will discuss H.R. 4775, the Ozone Standards Implementation Act of 2016, which will allow states the time and resources they need to comply with additional standards.as they are posted.
On Friday, the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations will convene a hearing to examine the $3.5 billion in unlawful insurance payments made by the Obama administration to private insurers. CMS Acting Administrator Andy Slavitt will be the sole witness.as they are posted.
