Look Ahead: Committee Announces Hearing and Vote Schedule for the Week of May 16

WASHINGTON, DC - The House Committee on Energy and Commerce today announced its hearing and vote schedule for the week of May 16.

On Tuesday, the Subcommittee on Health will hold a hearing to examine a recently proposed rule from CMS on its Part B Drug Payment Model. The proposed rule is a mandatory experiment, which would be conducted across nearly all Primary Care Service Areas in the U.S. Members will consider H.R. 5122, introduced by Rep. Larry Bucshon, M.D. (R-IN), which would block the proposal from advancing.as they are posted.

Also on Tuesday, the full committee will convene for opening statements only for a markup. The following bills will be considered:

* H.R. 4775, the Ozone Standards Implementation Act of 2016, authored by Rep. Pete Olson (R-TX), would give states additional time and flexibility to deploy their limited resources when implementing new ozone and other National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS), and will address other NAAQS implementation challenges. * H.R. 4979, the Advanced Nuclear Technology Development Act of 2016, authored by Rep. Bob Latta (R-OH), would ensure that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is prepared to license innovative advanced nuclear technologies.

On Wednesday, the full committee will reconvene its markup.

On Thursday, the Subcommittee on Health will hold a hearing to examine H.R. 3299, the Strengthening Public Health Emergency Response Act. The bipartisan bill, sponsored by Rep. Susan Brooks (R-IN) and Rep. Anna Eshoo (D-CA), would update and enhance the nation’s abilities to respond to biothreats.as they are posted.
