WASHINGTON, DC - The Subcommittee on Health, chaired by Rep. Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX), announced a hearing for Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017, at 10 a.m. in room 2123 of the Rayburn House Office Building. The hearing is entitled, “Supporting Tomorrow’s Health Providers: Examining Workforce Programs under the Public Health Service Act."
#SubHealth will examine a number of programs that are in need of reauthorization, including: The National Health Service Corps (NHSC), the Teaching Health Center GME (THCGME), Title VII health workforce education and training programs, and Title VIII nursing workforce education and training programs.
“These are important programs that play critical roles in educating health practitioners across the country," said Chairman Burgess. “It is imperative we get an update on how they are performing as we seek to support their vital services and efforts."
