Pallone Applauds Passage of Connected Government Act

The following press release was published by the House Committee on Energy and Commerce on Dec. 22, 2017. It is reproduced in full below.

Washington, D.C. - Energy and Commerce Ranking Member Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) today applauded Senate passage of the Connected Government Act yesterday, a bill introduced in the House of Representatives by Ranking Member Pallone and Rep. Robin Kelly (D-IL). The House passed the bill on Nov. 15, 2017, and it now goes to the President’s desk for his signature. The bill ensures that Americans will have the necessary access to government services they rely on by mandating federal websites to be mobile friendly:

"More people use their mobile devices to go online than ever before - especially those in minority communities, those who cannot afford desktop computers, and those left with only their mobile devices in the wake of natural disasters. The Connected Government Act will bring government services closer to those who need them most when they need them most. I thank my colleagues, especially Congresswoman Kelly and Senator Hassan, for their tireless efforts supporting this important legislation and its spirit of equal access for more Americans."
