WASHINGTON, DC - The Subcommittee on Digital Commerce and Consumer Protection, chaired by Rep. Bob Latta (R-OH), announced today a hearing for Friday, May 18, 2018 at 9:15 a.m. in room 2322 of the Rayburn House Office Building. The hearing is entitled, “Disrupter Series: Quantum Computing."

#SubDCCP will continue its #DisrupterSeries next week with a look at the emergence of quantum computing. Members will discuss the current state of this technology as well as the challenges and opportunities that come with its development and deployment.

“As quantum computing continues to attract a great deal of interest, both at home in the U.S. and abroad, this subcommittee will examine its potential uses, advantages, and challenges. Next week’s hearing will be an important opportunity to better understand the potential for commercially available quantum computers and America’s global competitiveness in this growing field. I look forward to talking to our expert witnesses about the rise of quantum computing and its application to real world problems," said Chairman Latta.
