#SubHealth to Examine Implementation of 21st Century Cures Act

WASHINGTON, DC -The Subcommittee on Health, chaired by Rep. Michael Burgess M.D. (R-TX), announced a hearing for Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2018 at 10:15 a.m. in room 2322 of the Rayburn House Office Building. The hearing is entitled, “Implementing the 21st Century Cures Act: An Update from the Office of the National Coordinator."

Next week, #SubHealth will hold its fourth hearing in a series on the implementation of the 21st Century Cures Act since it was signed into law in December of 2016. This series has included hearings on research and development, mental health initiatives, and FDA provisions. Next week’s hearing will focus on interoperability of Electronic Health Records (EHRs), as well as implementation of the law’s provisions regarding information blocking and the establishment of a Trusted Exchange Framework. The Office of Management and Budget is currently reviewing a rule to guide implementation of these provisions of law and it is expected to be released this month.as they are posted.
