WASHINGTON, DC - The Subcommittee on Energy, chaired by Rep. Fred Upton (R-MI), announced a hearing for Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018 at 10:15 a.m. in room 2322 of the Rayburn House Office Building. The hearing is entitled, “Public Private Partnerships for Federal Energy Management."
Historically, the federal government has used public-private partnerships to guarantee energy goals are met, and that federal property is properly managed. Encouraging these partnerships is essential to ensuring that government facilities operate as effectively and efficiently as possible. By promoting decreases in energy consumption in federal buildings, this can drastically reduce costs to the federal government.
“We must ensure our federal facilities are running as efficiently as possible in order to reduce costs at those facilities and improve energy consumption," said #SubEnergy Chairman Upton. “Public private partnerships can allow us to minimize costs while improving energy and water efficiency without burdening the taxpayer with massive improvement projects, while simultaneously providing opportunity for business growth for energy providers."
