The following press release was published by the House Committee on Energy and Commerce on Feb. 27, 2019. It is reproduced in full below.

Energy and Commerce Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Health Subcommittee Chairwoman Anna G. Eshoo (D-CA) announced today that the Health Subcommittee will hold a legislative hearing on Wednesday, March 6, at 10 am in the John D. Dingell Room, 2123 Rayburn House Office Building. The hearing is entitled, “Strengthening Our Health Care System: Legislation to Lower Consumer Costs and Expand Access."

“Next week, the Health Subcommittee will hold our second legislative hearing on several bills that will reduce consumers’ costs and improve Americans’ access to health care," Pallone and Eshoo said. “These legislative proposals are an important part of our commitment to lowering costs and putting an end to the Trump Administration’s ongoing efforts to sabotage the nation’s health care system."

Information for this hearing, including the Committee Memorandum, the legislation to be discussed, witness list and testimony, and a live webcast, will be posted HERE as they become available.

On Feb. 13, the Health Subcommittee held its first legislative hearing on four bills that would also lower health care costs and protect people with pre-existing conditions.
