Energy Subcommittee to Hold Legislative Hearing on Bills to Improve Energy Efficiency and Energy Sector Jobs

Energy and Commerce Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Energy Subcommittee Chairman Bobby L. Rush (D-IL) announced today that the Energy Subcommittee will hold a legislative hearing on Wednesday, April 10 at 10 am in the John D. Dingell Room, 2123 Rayburn House Office Building on a series of bills aimed at making Americans’ homes, buildings and energy infrastructure more efficient and cost-effective. The hearing is entitled, “Investing in America’s Energy Infrastructure: Improving Energy Efficiency and Creating a Diverse Workforce."

“Creating more energy efficient homes and communities - and investing in a new workforce to build them - will save consumers money on their energy bills, strengthen the economy, and address climate change," said Pallone and Rush. “Tackling these issues will be a priority for us this Congress, and we look forward jumpstarting that effort at this hearing."

The bills to be considered at the hearing are as follows:

* H.R. 1315 - Blue Collar to Green Collar Jobs Development Act of 2019

* H.R. 2019 - Smart Energy and Water Efficiency Act of 2019

* H.R. 2041 - Weatherization Enhancement and Local Energy Efficiency Investment and Accountability Act

* H.R. 2043 - Home Owner Managing Energy Savings (HOMES) Act of 2019

* H.R. 2044 - Smart Building Acceleration Act

Several other bills are expected to be added.
