The following press release was published by the House Committee on Energy and Commerce on May 14, 2019. It is reproduced in full below.

Energy and Commerce Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Health Subcommittee Chairwoman Anna G. Eshoo (D-CA) announced today that the Health Subcommittee will hold a legislative hearing on Tuesday, May 21, at 10:30 am in the John D. Dingell Room, 2123 of the Rayburn House Office Building. The hearing is entitled, “Improving Drug Pricing Transparency and Lowering Prices for American Consumers."

“Next week we will hold a hearing on bipartisan legislative proposals to improve drug supply chain transparency for consumers and lower costs for low-income Medicare beneficiaries," Pallone and Eshoo said. “The American people deserve to know why drug prices are increasing. On the heels of last week’s hearing on the drug supply chain, we will consider a number of proposals that will offer greater insight into how drugs are priced, which will help us identify the root causes of high drug costs."

Information for this hearing, including the Committee Memorandum, witness list and testimony, and a live webcast, will be posted HERE as they become available.
