E&C Announces Additional Details for Hearing on Online Content Moderation and Section 230

Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ), Communications and Technology Subcommittee Chairman Mike Doyle (D-PA) and Consumer Protection and Commerce Subcommittee Chair Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) announced today that the Communications and Technology and Consumer Protection and Commerce Subcommittees will hold a joint hearing on Wednesday, Oct. 16, at 10 am in the John D. Dingell Room, 2123 of the Rayburn House Office Building entitled “Fostering a Healthier Internet to Protect Consumers."

On Sept. 26, Pallone, Doyle and Schakowsky announced the Subcommittees’ intention to hold a joint hearing exploring online content moderation practices and whether consumers are adequately protected under current law, including the protections Congress granted in Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act.
