WASHINGTON, DC - Energy and Commerce Committee Republican Leader Greg Walden (R-OR) released the following statement on President Trump’s nomination of Dr. Stephen M. Hahn to serve as Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner:
“I applaud President Trump for nominating Dr. Stephen M. Hahn to Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Dr. Hahn has a strong background in medical treatment, education, and management through a long career in academia and as an administrator at premier research and medical institutions. Dr. Hahn’s current position as Chief Medical Executive of the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center will serve him well as commissioner of the FDA. I look forward to learning more about Dr. Hahn during the confirmation process, as the public health challenges ahead continue to mount," said Walden.
