Washington, DC - Energy and Commerce Committee GOP Leader Greg Walden (R-OR) released the following statement on the Senate’s bipartisan Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, urging his colleagues to swiftly pass the measure when it comes to the House.

“Thank you to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell for his relentless efforts to get relief to the American people and our small businesses. He refused to accept no for an answer, and Democrats sure tried.

“The delay hurt people. Period. It was mean and petty. Let’s learn from it.

“The House should act swiftly and overwhelmingly to get this emergency economic and health care assistance to President Trump’s desk and out to our communities," Walden said.
