Energy and Commerce Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Health Subcommittee Chairwoman Anna G. Eshoo (D-CA) announced today that the Health Subcommittee will hold a fully remote legislative hearing on Tuesday, May 4, at 11:30 a.m. (EDT) on legislation to lower the cost of prescription drugs for the American people. The hearing is entitled, “Negotiating a Better Deal: Legislation to Lower the Cost of Prescription Drugs."
“It’s unacceptable, especially during a public health and economic crisis, that Americans are paying the highest prices for prescription drugs in the world," Pallone and Eshoo said. “It’s time to finally rein in the soaring cost of prescription drugs by empowering the federal government to negotiate a better deal for the American people. Making health care and prescription drugs more affordable is one of this Committee’s top priorities, and we look forward to discussing the Elijah E. Cummings Lower Drug Costs Now Act and other proposals to lower the cost of prescription drugs."
