BUFFALO, N.Y. -- U.S. Attorney James P. Kennedy, Jr. and U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration Special Agent in Charge Ray Donovan, New York Division announced today that Latisha Williams, 40, of Buffalo, NY, who was convicted distributing cocaine, was sentenced by Chief U.S. District Judge Frank P. Geraci. Jr., to time served, with a period of 6 years of supervised release
Assistant U.S. Attorney Brendan T. Cullinane, who is handling the case, stated that on July 14, 2014, the DEA conducted a controlled purchase of cocaine from the defendant and co-defendant Lamel Williams at the defendants' East Amherst Street residence.
Charges remain pending against Lamel Williams. The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. Another co-defendant, Iris Centeno, was previously convicted and sentenced.
The sentencing is the result of an investigation by the DEA Buffalo Resident Office and the Erie County Sheriff’s Office.
