WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Jim Risch (R-Idaho), chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, today released the following statement after speaking with Colombian President Iván Duque:

“Today, I was glad to speak with President Iván Duque of Colombia and reaffirm our longstanding, values-based relationship. We discussed our ongoing interest in helping the Venezuelan people reclaim their freedom, building upon our decades-long counternarcotics cooperation, and advancing economic prosperity through innovation, the rule of law, and the international norms that have allowed our free societies to prosper."
