Risch, Shaheen to Lead Congressional Delegation to Halifax International Security Forum

WASHINGTON - Next month, U.S. Senators Jim Risch (R-Idaho), ranking member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.), a senior member of the Senate Armed Services and Foreign Relations Committees, will lead a bipartisan congressional delegation to participate in the 13th annual Halifax International Security Forum. Risch and Shaheen will be joined by Senators John Barrasso (R-Wyo.), Tim Kaine (D-Va.), Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.), and hundreds of delegates from around the world to discuss strategic cooperation on common global security goals. They will participate in conversations on U.S. leadership and coordination with allies, including topics such as the climate crisis, the fall of Afghanistan, an emboldened China, and global issues around women, peace, and security.
