On Wednesday, March 12, the committee will convene two education hearings in room 2175 of the Rayburn House Office Building.
At 10:30 a.m., the House Education and the Workforce Committee, chaired by Rep. John Kline (R-MN), will hold a hearing entitled, “Raising the Bar: The Role of Charter Schools in K-12 Education." The hearing, rescheduled from Tuesday, March 4, will explore opportunities to encourage charter school growth and expand access to this valuable school choice option.
At 2:30 p.m., the Subcommittee on Higher Education and Workforce Training, chaired by Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC), will hold a hearing entitled, “Examining the Mismanagement of the Student Loan Rehabilitation Process." The hearing will discuss the Department of Education's struggles to effectively help borrowers overcome loan default through the rehabilitation process.
