Kline, Roe Applaud Judicial Decision in House v. Burwell

The following was published by the House Committee on Education and Labor on May 12, 2016. It is reproduced in full below.

Rep. John Kline (R-MN), chairman of the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, and Rep. Phil Roe (R-TN), chairman of the Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor, and Pensions, released the following statement today after U.S. District Court Judge Rosemary M. Collyer ruled in favor of the House of Representatives in House v. Burwell:

Time and again, this administration has tried to prop up a fatally flawed health care scheme through executive fiat and unilateral changes to the law. In this case, the administration has sent to insurance companies billions of taxpayer dollars-without proper congressional support. The administration’s actions are an affront to hardworking Americans and our Constitution, and we are pleased the federal district court has held the administration accountable. This decision is a victory for the rule of law, the taxpayers, and all of us who want to see patient-centered health care reform.
