Foxx: House Democrats are at the Beck and Call of China

The following was published by the House Committee on Education and Labor on Feb. 4. It is reproduced in full below.

Education and Labor Committee Republican Leader Virginia Foxx (R-NC) issued the following statement after the House passed H.R. 4521, the so-called America Competes Act, which emboldens the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) at the expense of American job creators, workers, and students:

“With today’s passage of the so-called America Competes Act - more aptly described as the America Concedes Act - House Democrats proved what we knew to be true all along: they are perfectly content with bending the knee to the will of the Chinese Communist Party.

“From burdensome Davis-Bacon provisions to the creation of a data system that tracks every college student in America through their adult lives without their consent, this 2,900-page bill is a belated Christmas gift to the far left and the CCP. House Democrats are fooling themselves if they believe this bill will sharpen America’s competitive edge against the CCP - if anything, it only dulls the blade."
