Shuster Statement on Congressman Coble’s Retirement Announcement

The following press release was published by the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure on Nov. 7, 2013. It is reproduced in full below.

Washington, DC - Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Bill Shuster (R-PA) released the following statement on today’s retirement announcement from fellow committee member Howard Coble (R-NC):

“I have worked with Howard Coble since I came to Congress and joined the Transportation Committee 13 years ago. Since that time, I have known Howard to be a knowledgeable, hard-working member of the Congress and the Committee, and the 6th District of North Carolina has been fortunate to have him as a representative for the last three decades. Howard is the only former member of the United States Coast Guard serving in Congress, and I have appreciated his dedication and insight on U.S. maritime and transportation issues. I wish him the very best as he finishes out his term in Congress and in his future retirement."
