The Transportation and Infrastructure Committee’s Panel on Public-Private Partnerships will focus on the international experience during a hearing next week.
Thousands of P3s agreements have been signed across the world, under many different models. Between 2008 and October 2013, various governments signed approximately 158 P3 concession agreements, of which 15 were in the United States.
At this hearing, the Panel on Public-Private Partnerships, chaired by U.S. Rep. John J. Duncan, Jr. (R-TN), will examine international perspectives and models of P3s, and will hear from two active government participants in the P3 project delivery model: Partnerships British Columbia and Infrastructure Ontario.
The Panel continues its work to explore the use of and opportunities for P3s across all modes of transportation, economic development, public buildings, water, and maritime infrastructure.
The hearing, entitled “The International Experience with Public-Private Partnerships," is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 in 2167 Rayburn House Office Building.
