Hearing to Review Case Studies of Surface Transportation Environmental Review & Permitting Process

The Subcommittee on Highways and Transit, chaired by U.S. Rep. Tom Petri (R-WI), will hold a hearing next week on the federal environmental review and permitting process for surface transportation infrastructure projects.

As Congress continues its work to reauthorize surface transportation programs, the Subcommittee will receive testimony from project sponsors regarding their experiences with the federal environmental review and permitting process, and insights about which aspects of the process work well and which work poorly.

This hearing, entitled “Surface Transportation Infrastructure Projects: Case Studies of the Federal Environmental Review and Permitting Process," is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 in 2167 Rayburn House Office Building.
