House Sends Keystone Pipeline Bill to President

The following press release was published by the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure on Feb. 11, 2015. It is reproduced in full below.

Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Bill Shuster (R-PA) released the following statement today after the House voted to send a measure approving construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline project to the President:

“Keystone will create tens of thousands of jobs in America, will strengthen our energy independence, and will only help improve energy costs, all without costing taxpayers a dime. This is an opportunity for the President to listen to the American people, who support this project; listen to labor groups and the 3 million workers they represent, who support this project; listen to his own State and Transportation Departments, which have said this project would be the safest pipeline ever built and would have no significant impact on the environment. I urge the President to do the right thing for America and sign this bill."
