ALBANY, NEW YORK - Gregory L. Clark, age 26, of Troy, New York, pled guilty today to unlawfully possessing a firearm and ammunition.
The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Richard S. Hartunian, Troy Police Chief John F. Tedesco, and Delano A. Reid, Special Agent in Charge of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) New York Field Division
Clark, who has 3 prior felony convictions, admitted that on April 2, 2016, Troy Police Officers responding to a report of a man with a gun found Clark hiding in a closet in an apartment in the Lansingburgh section of Troy. Officers also found a loaded Ruger.357 caliber revolver in the closet, which Clark admitted was his.
Clark faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, and a term of post-imprisonment supervised release of up to 3 years when he is sentenced on Dec. 12, 2016 by Senior U.S. District Judge Gary L. Sharpe. A defendant’s sentence is imposed by a judge based on the particular statute the defendant is charged with violating, the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other factors.
This case was investigated by the Troy Police Department and ATF, and is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Barnett.
