Murkowski Votes to Advance Persily as Gasline Coordinator

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, today applauded the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee vote to advance Larry Persily’s nomination to be Federal Coordinator of the Office for Alaska Natural Gas Transportation Projects.

“Developing our natural gas resources is integral to Alaska’s future," Murkowski said. “I am confident that Larry will work tirelessly to advance this project."

Persily must now be confirmed by the full Senate. If confirmed as federal coordinator, Persily would be responsible for integrating the activities of federal agencies involved in the permitting and construction of a pipeline to bring North Slope gas to markets in the Lower 48 states. Persily would report directly to the president. #
