WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, today expressed her support for the nomination of Dr. Ernest Moniz to be the next Secretary of the Department of Energy. The Senate unanimously confirmed Dr. Moniz by a vote of 97-0.
“It is my hope that after his confirmation, Dr. Moniz will guide our nation’s energy policy as the respected scientist that he is: rigorously, robustly, free of preordained conclusions, and not afraid to speak up or speak his mind," Murkowski said. “His department will benefit - and so will our nation."
