A deal between the United States and the European Union has been announced, removing tariffs on commercial aircraft and jet engines. The Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) President and CEO Eric Fanning expressed support for the agreement following President Trump's announcement.

Fanning said, "Lowering trade barriers with our European allies—many of whom are our top trading partners already—deters our adversaries, deepens our relationships, and, ultimately, grows the American aerospace and defense workforce." He emphasized that such trade deals drive innovation, competition, and job creation across all 50 states.

Fanning added that AIA has been a strong advocate for agreements like this one, which have contributed significantly to the growth of the aerospace sector. He also expressed gratitude towards President Trump and his administration for recognizing the sector's importance to national and economic security.

Furthermore, Fanning mentioned AIA's intention to work with the administration to ensure U.S. defense products remain accessible in the E.U. market. He highlighted the longstanding and reciprocal nature of Transatlantic defense trade relationships.
