San Antonio, TX - Michael Johnson, an alleged robbery suspect, was arrested today by members of the U.S. Marshals Service Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF) and the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) SWAT Team.
Johnson, 25, was wanted by the Plattsburgh Police Department (PPD) in New York after a warrant was issued for his arrest in December of last year. Johnson allegedly failed to appear in court on charges involving first degree robbery and illegal possession of a firearm. PPD detectives had reason to believe that Johnson fled to San Antonio and immediately contacted the LSFTF to assist in locating and apprehending him.
Through months of investigative efforts and extensive surveillance, task force and SAPD SWAT officers located Johnson at an apartment in the 11000 block of Perrin Beitel Road. Johnson was arrested without incident and is currently being held in custody at the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office awaiting extradition to Plattsburgh, New York.
“Hard work definitely pays off and in this case task force and SWAT officers joined together to get the job done," said U.S. Marshal Susan Pamerleau. “When officers can return home safely after a day of arresting some of the most dangerous fugitives, that’s a good day."
