Middletown, OH - During the early afternoon hours of Aug. 27, 2019, the U.S. Marshals arrested fugitive Juan Mendez on an outstanding murder warrant from Harris County in Houston, Texas.
Mendez allegedly took part in a robbery that resulted in the death of a male victim within Harris County, Texas. Harris County Sheriff’s Office investigators filed an arrest warrant for Mendez and the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Fugitive Task Force developed information that Mendez was in Middletown, OH, and contacted the U.S. Marshals Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) in Cincinnati. SOFAST quickly located Mendez near the 300 block of Moore Street and arrested Mendez without incident.Mendez is currently in custody at the Butler County Jail awaiting extradition back to Texas.
