Burlington, VT - The U.S. Marshals Service, Vermont Violent Offender Task Force (VVOTF) arrested a fugitive wanted by the Vermont Department of Corrections for Escape from Furlough.
Paul Norman, 34, was wanted by the Vermont Department of Corrections, Probation and Parole, Burlington Division on an arrest warrant charging him with Escape from Furlough, after Norman absconded from the Burlington halfway house he was residing at.
On Aug. 21, 2019 the Vermont Department of Corrections sought the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service in locating and arresting Norman, as his whereabouts were unknown since he fled a month prior.
Norman is no stranger to the criminal justice system and has a criminal history dating back to 2003, to include criminal charges for domestic assaults and 8 different charges for violating an abuse prevention order. Norman was on furlough for the charge of violating an abuse prevention order - second or subsequence offense.
During the fugitive investigation, investigators tracked Norman to Enosburg, where he was arrested without incident and lodged at the Northwest State Correctional Facility.
