Memphis, TN - U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller announces the arrest of Frank Cooper for First Degree Murder and Cameran Leatherwood for Voluntary Manslaughter in unrelated incidents.
Omyus Brown was found shot to death April 5, near the intersection of Delano Ave. and Steele St. in Frayser. The victim was 17-years-old. A warrant was issued for the arrest of Cameran Leatherwood for this crime.
On April 17, Lavonte Lawler was shot to death in Lawton, Oklahoma. A warrant for First Degree Murder was issued for the arrest of Frank Cooper for this crime. This case was adopted by the Marshals Office in Western Oklahoma.
Earlier today, the U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force and the Shelby County Fugitive Apprehension Team tracked Frank Cooper to a motel room in Lakeland, Tennessee. Cooper was taken into custody without incident.
After completing that arrest, the Task Force and the Apprehension Team went to an apartment at the 2600 block of Garden Grove, Memphis Tennessee. Cameran Leatherwood was located there and taken into custody without incident.
“I’m proud of the Task Force’s work to apprehend not just one but two homicide suspects," noted U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller.
The U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force is a multi-agency task force in the Western District of Tennessee with offices in Memphis and Jackson. Its membership is composed of Deputy U.S. Marshals, Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies, Memphis Police Officers, Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputies, Jackson Police Officers, and Special Agents with the Tennessee Department of Correction. The primary mission of the Task Force is to arrest violent offenders and sexual predators.
